3D scanning has really improved the ability to make parts that mate to other objects. The phone holding part was perfect on the first try. I did have to adjust the design after the first print to tweak the fit a little bit for where the camera module and USB adapter fit — when doing the original scan, the camera and adapter were slightly sagged from their ideal location – I had to go back and fudge the model a little bit to compensate.
