Hello 3D scanning community! I need to scan the object pictured so that I can 3D PRINT a smaller version of it. I wish to do this so that I can PRACTICE painting this mask. I will use cosplay PLA for the print and only print a small version so as not to waste material or paint. I need to practice first before tackling the main build if this costume mask. Right now I have PolyCam for iPhone 15 pro. So far I have only scanned large objects. Well I’ve only scanned people with mixed results. The PolyCam app does not seem to capture high detail and it struggles in certain lightning conditions. PolyCam is fun for goofing around and having colorful scans of people, but when I remove the color form the scan it is low res. Please advise a way to scan this mask in as high detail as possible. I am ok with for example placing dots or marks on the mask because I’m going to paint over it anyway. I want the scan to be good but it doenst have to be perfect because it’s just for practicing painting techniques. Thanks! Any advice is helpful! submitted by /u/RougeTheBatStan |
