I need some help, I recently got a CR-Raptor for the purpose of scanning hand held radios and various other hand held electronics. I’ve been making cases for these devices using shapr3D but even with a ton of fillets, lofts and curves, they are still somewhat blocky. My idea was to get a scanner and create form fitted tight cases and holsters for these things. Is this doable? I’ve been struggling, I’ve used fusion 360 and mesh mixer, attempted to learn blender, but I can’t seem to get anything that will let me offset the body and create a shell…… If that’s even the right way to go about it? I’ve seen some YouTube videos, ie: the dremel video and a phone case video where they make a guard and phone case using adobe substance3D. I’m wonder if anyone has tips or has done this same thing? Most of the time fusion just crashes because my geometry is to complex on the radio to create an offset face or a cut extrusion. The pictures are as far as I’ve gotten. I can create a solid from the mesh but then it basically freezes up. I’m hoping maybe adobe substance is the solution as it looks fairly simple and may be a way to clean up the scan and then edit all in one program? submitted by /u/mk9_3 |
