I occasionally use a Shining3D Einscan Pro HD for work. I successfully used it several times, with no issue like this one.
Yesterday, I scanned a lever I wanted to 3D print directly, but noticed that it came out smaller. And i don’t mean 10x smaller, like it was a unit conversion problem.
It came out about 15% smaller (a hole that supposed to be 19 mm came out about 16.7 mm!). I noticed it only once the object was printed.
Once in the “Measurement” tab in EXScan, I can measure that the hole is 16.7 mm and not 19 mm, and the overall dimensions of the lever are totally off (about 170mm in lenght instead of 200mm!) so it looks like it’s the scan itself that is somehow smaller.
How is it possible?! Thanks in advance
