Samsung Galaxy S26 May Debut 2nm Exynos 2600 as Exynos 2500 Faces Delays



In the Samsung Galaxy S25 series phones released in January, Samsung uses a custom Snapdragon 8 Ultra processor, and surprisingly, its own Exynos processor is absent from the S25 series. The reason for this may be because of the Exynos 2500’s poor yield rate, which is that Samsung has delayed the use of the processor, which is not expected to be available until the middle of the year in the Galaxy Flip7 foldable phone.

The Exynos 2500 may not have much visibility in the mobile phone market, but for the next-generation Exynos 2600 chip, Samsung Electronics has invested a lot of resources to ensure that the chip can be mass-produced on time.

It is reported that Samsung’s Exynos 2600 will be manufactured using Samsung’s new generation of 2nm process, the process node is SF2 (Samsung Foundry 2nm process), compared with the 3nm process, the new process can bring 25% reduction in power consumption and 12% performance improvement. At present, Samsung’s production progress is performing well, and the trial production yield rate is 30%, which is higher than Samsung’s internal expectations.

There is still a lot of time before the mass production of the Exynos 2600, and Samsung has enough time to improve the process and achieve the yield rate to the mass production standard. The Exynos 2600 is expected to start mass production in Q4, followed by the Samsung Galaxy S26 series.

Samsung Galaxy S26 series is likely to be the first chip mobile phone to use 2nm process, TSMC is expected to start producing 2nm process chips in 2025, but Apple’s iPhone 17 series will not be able to catch up, and Apple will fully use 2nm chips in the iPhone 18 series.
