My side hustle is 3d printing parts I design. They are accessories for other functional parts. IE I have to reverse engineer a part and then design a part to fit it. I spend usually 1-3 days on each product, design print adjust, print adjust over and over till I get a result. Usually I start with photos and then a micrometer and go at it. Every time I start a new design I think god this would be easier if I could just scan this and have it close to perfect fit right away. I tried an original revopoint and it was garbage. My objects aren’t large but they are always black. Think gopro to head phone sizes.
I see creality has a blue light scanner now the raptor and raptor X. at 1-5k these are in the ballpark for me. Is it finally time that this tech is worth throwing down on for my little side hustle?
Finally I do all my design work in fusion 360. Is fusion going to be able to handle the meshes I bring in once they are scanned? again, were talking gopro-headphone sized objects here.
