Hi everyone, looking to scan faces. I’d love to hear how the experiences are with Einstar? I’ve been having a play with an Otter (with the option to return it). I’m looking to scan a smiling face quickly with reasonable detail. I don’t need a whole head, or body scan, just face (from ear to ear ideally).
The otter does well but the face scan FOV is quite small. It would be better if it would allow the distance to be a little further back to allow the entire face. Right now it fits 3/4 of a face in which means I need to sweep a few times to capture the whole face.
When trying to capture a smiling pose, a person can only hold it for a few seconds, any longer than that they can move their smiling muscles/face and the scan will distort. With the otter it takes about 15 seconds to do this, which is ok. Ideally I’d like a larger FOV and the time capturing could then maybe be only 7-8 seconds. Looking at the einstar so would love to hear opinions on this. The mesh quality of the otter is excellent for faces. Not sure if Einstar mesh quality is good for smaller objects/face? Would love to hear everyone’s feedback on this. Thank you!
