Android – Galaxy S22+ Display Pink Line | TechEnclave

Hey, guys.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S22+ which suddenly began showing a vertical pink line.

It is out of warranty but I am seeing that it is a common issue with Samsung TOTL phones these days. The phone has never been damaged in anyway. The line suddenly appeared just about one month after warranty ended.

There is information about free screen replacement but that doesn’t seem to include either pink line or this model, even though S22+ is facing this hardware failure for many other people too.

I tried talking with customer care. They did the usual troubleshooting advice and then recommended going to a service center.

What should I do?

Post a photo with this line

I suggest you take it to an official service centre and ask them. They were fixing out of warranty green line (?pink line) display for free if the following conditions were met –
1. The device should not be more than 3 years old (not 100% sure, others please verify)
2. There should not be any physical damage on the device.
3. There should not be any water damage inside the device.

If all the conditions are met, they replace the display and battery free of cost. Only labour charges are there which comes to around 1000 rupees.

Also, a photo of the issue would be great.

Hey, guys. Thank you for your responses.

Now the colour of the line has changed to green. The green line is very bright compared to the previous pink which was not so prominently visible.

S22 and S22 Plus aren’t included in the free replacement. Only the S22 Ultra.

Had to pay 10K to get my S22 display fixed.

Hey, guys. Thank you for your responses.

I’ve heard about this issue affecting many Samsung S series devices. Since I have S21 and S22 devices at home, I decided not to update their firmware. People are saying that updating the devices is causing this problem, so I plan to wait for another update before proceeding. So far, I haven’t encountered any issues
