Hey guys. I’m in the architectural metal industry. Scopes will include large pivot doors, large barn doors, stair cases, fireplace clad systems, wall panels, etc.
Currently I use a laser level, laser tape, tape measure, and phone images to measure everything. Looking into getting a 3D scanner. I use Autodesk Inventor and Solidworks to model it all before we make it.
We try to keep our reveals and tolerances tight, because trimming a 1/2″ thick steel plate in the field isn’t much fun. Also some of our finishes can’t be touched up on the field.
What scanning setup would work best for this application? Looking to spend less than 10k.
Considering whether or not a 3D scanner would be beneficial or not.
TIA
