The title question. I was trying to keep track of a few high end x570 motherboards on amazon and sporadically on pcpricetracker. I didn’t really see the price drop and suddenly they are out of stock on a number of them. What happens to them? Is it possible to get one for a massive discount on MSRP. Like I would love to have an x570 aqua. It’s pointless and I would never buy it at full price. But if I was getting one for 80% off. Yea, I’d take it.
Right now, it’s the Z490 and Z590 boards that are occasionally being discounted on Amazon.
Most customer returns are also discounted, usually the price goes up after you buy one.
For X570, it looks like we missed the window — they were heavily discounted in the previous years.
The discounts are in the form of coupons, so they may not show up on price trackers. I bought a few motherboards this way, some B550s a couple years ago and a X299 before that.
