macos – Plugging in a USB keyboard changed my builtin keyboard’s keys

I plugged a USB keyboard into my 2015 MacBook, and the Keyboard Setup wizard opened. I did what it told me to do.

I then unplugged the keyboard. So for the rest of this post, I will be talking about my builtin MacBook keyboard, because its behaviour has changed.

Now, when I press the ` key, it types § instead. And trying to type ~ (same key but with shift) types ±.

This is not what System Preferences > Keyboard > Input sources shows that that key should be typing.

Basically, it looks like my §± and `~ keys have been swapped, even though System Preferences > Keyboard > Input Sources > My current input source does not show that they are swapped.

How can I make them swap back?

I don’t want the external keyboard to change my builtin keyboard’s mappings.
