Trouble Scanning Smaller Parts with Metro X

Trouble Scanning Smaller Parts with Metro X

So I’m trying to scan a shifter for a Civic, specifically the clips that hold the shift boot to the shifter knob. The part is about 18mm in diameter, and about 14mm tall. It’s attached to the rest of the shifter knob.

Here’s the part.

And here’s what I get when trying to scan in feature mode with markers.

This looks great, but when I start the scan all hell breaks loose.

The main issue I see is that there seems to be smearing. The markers on the base of the turn table show this.

So in the end I get this, and this is useless. It’s not even close to accurate.

IDK what it is that I need to do, or maybe it is that this scanner just can’t scan something this small.
