I have scan of a diagram with boxes, lines, and text.
The source for this file is lost.
I would like to create a diagram file that matches the intent of the scanned diagram.
In other words: It is more important that a line goes from box A to box B than getting the font right for the text inside box B.
I tried Inkscape’s trace bitmap, but it traces the bitmap (and does so very well) – it does not convert it into a diagram and does not convert the text into textfields.
The file format could be LibreOffice Draw or Inkscape, but I am open to other formats.
You could say, I am looking for a functionality similar to “OCR” but for diagrams.
Given that AI today can take a hand-drawn wireframe of a website and code the basic HTML and CSS for the layout, I am convinced there must be a tool today that can do this task.
There is nothing confidential in the file, so web-tools will also be OK.
