3d Scanner under 500 for prototyping?

Hey all, I’ve been looking for a 3d scanner for prototyping and designing components for various things. Traditionally i have spent countless hours mocking up representations/models of whatever I am designing a component to interface with and was thinking a 3d scanner could rapidly speed this up by scanning the object, importing it into a cad software and then designing my interfacing component from there.

Not sure how feasible this is or if at least at this price point. I don’t need color, I don’t think I need something that can pull out any fine detail besides the shape of the object( and holes) and I don’t need anything large (like over 1 or 2 cubic feet). I just need relatively decent accuracy. I was thinking something that could potentially be capable of hitting maybe like +/- 0.5 mm at the most?

Apologies for being relatively uninformed and i am pretty early in the process of learning this technology.
