Hi everyone,
I’m looking to set up a fast and efficient workflow for 3D scanning a person’s face, and I could use some guidance. Specifically, I’m wondering about the best equipment and software to achieve fast scans and quick rendering times.
- Best Scanner for Facial Scanning: What’s the best 3D scanner for capturing faces with high detail? I’m not sure which one would give the fastest results with the highest accuracy. Should I go with a hand-held scanner, a desktop scanner, or perhaps a multi-camera setup?
- Can Multiple Scanners Be Linked Together for Faster Scanning? Is it possible (and practical) to link multiple scanners to scan someone’s face from different angles simultaneously to speed up the process, or would a single high-quality scanner still be more efficient overall?
- Hardware for Rendering the Files Quickly: Once I have the scan, I need to render the file quickly. What kind of computer setup do I need for fast processing? Specifically, which CPU, GPU, RAM, and storage would be ideal for 3D scanning and rendering? I’m looking for something that will minimize wait times for both the scanning and rendering stages.
Any advice, personal experiences, or recommendations on scanners, rigs, and hardware would be hugely appreciated!
