So I’m looking to scan a broken antique vase, the top is missing with a complex fracture. It’s quite a rare piece of art nouveau history and I’m looking to restore it somewhat with a resin 3D print that resembles the original style. I know glass is a pain to scan, and this structure is not simple. I don’t mind spending a reasonable amount of money to get a scanner but I’m probably not going to use one beyond this project. Does anyone have any experience with scanning something like this? Would I get any results with one of the cheaper scanners (Moose, Seal) or would they be a complete waste of time? submitted by /u/fraseyboo |
